For Surround the Game is Stretched out of the Box - use HEX edit or Widescreenfixer to get HOR+. Hex edit Aspect Ratio: Go to -.SteamsteamappscommonCall of Duty Modern Warfare 2iw4sp.exe. Look for 39 8E E3 3F and change it to AB AA AA 40 (3x16:9) or 9A 99 99 40 (3x16:10). Alternative FOV edit. Go to -.SteamsteamappscommonCall of Duty Modern Warfare 2playersconfig.cfg.

So yeah just a port (well lets say it was a bit difficult) of my background changer for MW3, but it has a new feature!11!! - Now if the program fails to find the folder where mw2 is, it will make a file called changer.cfg that has the information of where is the folder so it dont asks you ALL the time when you change the background where is the. MW2 MP FoV Changer.exe is known as MW2mpfov and it is developed by unknown. We have seen about 3 different instances of MW2 MP FoV Changer.exe in different location. My friend Ape wrote a nice small tutorial for all those people who want to have FOV and cheats in singleplayer game.

Update: You need to do these changes each time you run the game since .cfg is reset, or set the file read-only.

Update #2: Thanks epidema for pointing out that FOV doesn’t work unless you add set sv_cheats “1”.

Update #3: If you cannot find players folder in your MW2 dir try to look at: C:UsersAppDataLocalVirt​ualStoreProgram Files

Browse to your MW2/players/ directory

Note that it’s not MW2players for all people. Search config.cfg in your c:documents and settings folder, and you should find the config file.

Open config.cfg in wordpad and add the following lines:

set developer “1”
set sv_cheats “1”
set thereisacow “1337”
bind M “cg_fov 90”

Once ingame press M to increase your FOV.

Fov Changer Beta 02

Optionally, if you don’t want to have to remember to press M to set your FOV, locate the line ‘bind W “+forward”‘ and change it to:
bind W “+forward;cg_fov 90”
This will set your fov automatically as soon as you walk in each level.

Changing FOV in config_mp.cfg is untested, but it may work (no idea if this is detected by VAC).
